QPST 2.7.497 and QFIL: EDL Scope, Files, and Verification
QPST is a Qualcomm service-tool suite; QFIL is one program commonly distributed with it. EDL 9008 is a boot-ROM recovery transport, while DIAG is a running-modem diagnostic interface. A Windows driver that exposes a 9008 COM port proves only that the PC can see the transport. It does not prove that a programmer is authorized for the device or that a firmware package is compatible.
The archived package labeled 2.7.497 has not been authenticated here against a current public Qualcomm distribution. Record its source, signer, file hash, and license terms before use.
Required device-specific inputs
A QFIL write normally depends on a signed firehose programmer accepted by the exact target, plus partition descriptors and images built for that product and storage type. A similarly named model, matching chipset, or generic prog_firehose file is not enough. Secure-boot authentication can reject an otherwise valid transport connection.
Back up readable device-specific data before writing. Loading a programmer, rawprogram*.xml, or patch*.xml can repartition storage and erase user or calibration data.
Diagnostic sequence
- Record the exact model, board revision, chipset, storage type, build, boot state, and initial fault.
- Install a traceable, correctly signed Windows driver and confirm the reported hardware ID.
- Distinguish QDLoader 9008 from DIAG and from normal Android ADB/Fastboot interfaces.
- Obtain the model/build-specific service package from an authorized source.
- Hash every input and preserve the complete QFIL log.
- Stop on Sahara, Firehose, authentication, storage, or partition-table mismatch errors; do not retry with random programmers.
- After a successful write, verify boot, partitions, radio, original identifiers, calls, data, and reboot persistence.
A Sahara error is a protocol-stage symptom, not one diagnosis. Causes include the wrong programmer, authorization, USB instability, storage failure, or a device leaving EDL. Reinstalling a driver does not resolve all of them.

Use the Qualcomm Windows driver guide for interface identification. Do not treat QPST, QFIL, EDL, and DIAG as interchangeable repair methods.
